Sweetness in the midst of bitter...

Hello everyone!!

Finals is finally over and it's now time to shop for clothes for internship since there will be a grooming session right after the beginning of the next semester. But before that, I'll write a post about the food that me and my friend actually able to find time to eat during the preparation of finals XD.

Bored of the usual Rock Cafe food, we decided to dine in a newly open restaurant in Sunway Pyramid - Jumping Bean. Jumping Bean is a Japanese dessert casual cuisine. It serves a wide variety of toast, waffle, and other main dishes, like spaghetti. Since it is famous for its toast and waffle, we decide to order these:

Nutella Almond Waffle - RM15.00
The waffle is presentable and the taste is not that bad but it can be better. As you can see the outer layer is not crispy. With the addition of Nutella, the ice cream and the thickness of the waffle, it is even softer. It would have been better if the workers can "burn" the waffle a little bit more, so that it is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.  With the price, we deserve a better waffle.

Oreo Dinosaurs Honey Toast - RM 17.83
The toast is cute, look at the dinosaur! >.< . And the honey or is it maple syrup? Ah, the fragrance!! However, to be honest, the taste is normal and there is no surprise within the toast. I was actually very disappointed, VERY. Within the toast, there are stacks of toast breads and...... that's all! It is topped with tinned whipped cream and only a scoop of ice cream which is totally not enough for the toast. So, eat the precious ice cream sparingly. They should have taken the advantage of the toast box and prepared a surprise for the customers, so that it is worth the money.

Creme Brulee - RM 8.40
Since this was my first time trying Creme Brulee, I won't write much. Topped with caramelised sugar, the milk taste is very strong. It was served earlier than expected so it is not warm anymore. My friend was a bit disappointed about it.

There is an offer where you can get FREE waffle for every menu drink purchased. The waffle for this offer is not available on the menu, so try it! It is valid until 31st of August. However, it is only applicable to Digi Subscribers.

Enough of bad comments, now the good ones. Jumping Bean provides great service, which I am EXTREMELY satisfied. All customers are served with plain water for free. Also, their waiters are initiative. When they saw the table was wet with water and I needed the table to do my homework, he immediately wiped the table. Besides, he immediately provided another spoon when he noticed there are 2 people. (Most restaurants need to order waiter to bring another one). With such service, there are no service charge!! (there is GST)

Overall, the food is ok, ambience is great and the service is wonderful. The price, in my opinion, is a little pricey for students. (I sacrificed half of my 2 weeks allowance on this meal T.T)
