Manga: Dengeki Daisy

On Wednesday, I posted a manga review on Mishounen Produce, and today I will be writing about Dengeki Daisy, an exciting, dangerous and full of surprise romance manga written by Motomi Kyousuke.

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Slice of Life, School Life, Shoujo

Status: Completed

Chapters: 75 chapters, 4 extras

About: The manga begins with Kurebayashi Teru, who is left all alone after his brother died. However, she is not lonely as her brother left her a phone that is connected to "Daisy", a mysterious being that protects her from danger and will always be by her side when she feels lonely and helpless. Who is "Daisy" and what is his identity? As time passes, Teru's peaceful life is shattered and is revealed to danger because of "Daisy" and her brother. How will she overcome these dangers as a powerless high school student? Who will be her ally?

I came across this manga as I was searching a manga with a knight theme. A character that devotes his life to protect others or his love ones. And, thus, Dengeki Daisy.

To my surprise, this manga is like a bomb. Excitement arises one after another, there was never a moment that is boring and it is worth to read. Of course, there are some cooling space, so that neither the characters and readers will be tense all the time. In this manga, too, life of professional hackers are revealed, though with exaggeration. With profession, comes jargon. But, do not worry, explanations are given. After all, manga artists' job is to make sure that their readers understand and enjoy their pieces.

Dengeki Daisy's artworks, which made this manga distinct from another mangas, is that its drawing is more to a sharp, edgy feeling? Not to criticise anything, but just to describe it (I appreciate and respect every manga artists work). Besides, the artwork is clean, clear and easy to read. What I like about the drawing and probably what kept the manga interesting, is the exaggeration emotions that the artist drew.

Aren't they funny? However, not all of the drawings are like that. To capture the readers' attention, all comedies but lack of serious moment, is a no no. Therefore, in this manga, the artist did a great job in balancing these moments.

Also, I like how the artist wraps things up. The artist did not forget to insert solutions to some of the characters' weird behaviours and actions in the extras. So, be sure to read all the other chapters before you read the extras if you do not want to spoil the fun!
