Japanese Baked Cheese Tart Hype!

Good day, peeps!!

You know how Japanese baked cheese tart is the hype now. Being a cheese lover, how could I not try it? In the previous post, Just a Day Out, I have tried my first Japanese baked cheese tart. And now, I came across another 2 Japanese baked cheese tarts which I did not hesitate to buy it, despite my tight budget. So, let's not drag on and start now.

Good Taste Cake House (RM4.50)

I believed the shop owner caught on to this hype and released this new "member". It boasts as its best seller. Compared to the Hokkaido baked cheese tart, this is considerably cheaper.

The appearance of this tart, I would say not as attractive as the one I have tried. The crust crumbles very easily and therefore I decided to use a spoon instead.

The crust has a cakey consistency probably because it has been out from the oven for long and thus has absorbed the moisture of the cheese. The baked cheese is creamier, more sour and cheesier compared to the Hokkaido one's, which is light and airy. To me, it is more like a yoghurt + cheese. It is quite good and it would have been better if it is less sour.

John King (RM 4.90)

The next place is John King in DaMen. It specialises in selling tarts. Lots of tart. Being a tart selller, how could he not join in this hype?

To be honest, this tart is not the most appealing one. Should I describe it as an ugly duckling?

Never judge a book by its cover. That's what everyone said. We are human, we judge. But because we are human, we are capable to think and change our opinion after trying and learning.

Although this tart is an ugly duckling, of all the three tarts, I like this the most. It is like a combination of the other two. It is light and airy yet creamy, cheesy and a little sourness to it. A perfect combination. The crust is able to hold well and does not crumble easily too.

And again, the reason it does not ooze out as in the poster might be because it is not freshly baked.

Besides tart, I got to try McDonald's new release mango series menu and Hershey's ice cream. They also have the Olympic series menu but too bad that it does not have an option of a chicken patty.

It is definitely 100% fresh (the place I got that's it).

The smell of mango essence is extremely strong (definitely to cater to Malaysians' taste, but not mine) and emmm.... mango cubes? Well, maybe one or two bites? Mango is easily crushed, can't blame it if I missed it. I also noticed nata de coco in it, which I kind of surprise. Order it again? Maybe not. Some of the things are more than enough to just try once.

On the other hand, the Hershey's chocolate ice cream is pretty good and is quite on par with what I have tried when I was young. I did not really expect it.  But, to me, it is quite expensive. RM 2.50 for one, when last time chocolate ice cream is the same price as a normal sundae cone. Well, maybe last time it is not from Hershey's?

That's all from me for the recent things that I did which I can blog about. Till next time!
