Affordable Japanese Meal around Sunway University

Hello!

Recently, I passed by Nadayu Resident (just right beside Sunway University)  and came across a really cute signboard of sushi. Although it was quite far,  it clearly written "sushi • omurice" below the cute tamago sushi, which piqued my interest. So,  I suggested my family to have a dinner in there.  Since it is near a university, it wouldn't be that expensive, I thought. It turns out to be true.

It's affordable for students and there are having a free membership to the first 1000 customers. Me and my sister ended up signing up as the member system as it is quite cconvenient for us, in which we would not receive a card, but to just tell our IC number to them to receive a discount.

A cute brand they have
The interior of this shop is clean and simple.  Close to Japan's minimalistic style.

They even have a "tatami room" which is available for booking for students who want to have a place to do their homework or assignments.  The worker told me that the booking is without a fee,  but of course, do order something! The "tatami room" receives ample natural light,  which is definitely a cool place to study.

I was told that this restaurant opened just 2 weeks ago. So,  why not take this chance to enjoy the brand new furniture too.  😉

On to the food.  The sushi here is based on the converyor belt style, which mean that it is a lower cost sushi.  There are a few "new" sushi here which cannot be found in other conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

However, there are the usual ones too. The price range of conveyor belt sushi are between RM 1.95 to RM 4.95.

Besides this sushi,  there are a few signature dishes to be ordered in this restaurant. One of them is Omurice with Hanatama gravy.

The presentation is really good and the egg is soft and fluffy. While all are good,  the gravy seems too salty and it tastes like coconut dodol,  which is a weird combination. 😮

We also ordered Tomato Egg Drop Soup, which is probably a improvised version of miso soup.  It doesn't really taste like miso soup, but it is to my taste.

There is also a series of pumpkin menu, such as pumpkin salad,  pumpkin steamed egg and pumpkin okonomiyaki,  which I think there is no harm trying it. But since we can't really put everything into our stomach, we tried to control ourselves.

Lastly,  we ordered a dessert which the waiter highly recommended - Hanatama pudding. It is the famous,  easy-to-make Japanese custard pudding!!! We were actually hesitated to order it but everything turned out to be really good.  I love the pudding. The softness, the smoothness,  the creaminess and the sweetness of the pudding is just perfect. It's definitely a must order dessert.

From the conversation with the owner of the restaurant,  she aims to create a more family atmosphere and a family style dishes, so that students away from home are able to have some delicious and affordable "home-cooked meal". The technology they brought in to this restaurant is of top-notch.  One most visible top-notch technology is that of the coffee machine which can be seen as you enter the restaurant. I even got a free, freshly brewed coffee latte from the coffee machine and it was delicious!!!

So,  if you are around the vicinity,  do give this restaurant a little try.  😉
