ICSS (Final)

Hello! It's been a while since my last post. All exams ended and I can't say that it was a good examination this semester. In fact, I think that it won't be a pass this round and would have to resit the next semester. Anyway, back to the competition that I promised to post.

The place where we begin is the place we end it. Thus, the last competition ground is at Capri Hotel. We were told to arrive early for a short lesson of cat-walking and a round of run through. After about an hour and half, we had a small breakfast. That's when the guests had already arrived and gathered for breakfast.

After the simple breakfast, the guests were gathered in a hall where all the activities took place and the contestants were gathered in a room for the competition preparation. BrandImage International Consultant managed to invite makeup artists from Kawon Makeover and hair stylists from Divo Hair Connection to help us in preparing for our competition. We were given plenty of time to prepare our makeup, hairdo, catwalk, speeches and whatever we needed to prepare. We also managed to have a lunch prepared by Capri Hotel.

Regarding the theme of the final competition, we had to back track 2 weeks before the final competition actually started. After the end of the 3rd round competition, we were told to draw lots on the topic for our final competition. It was a team competition consisted of either 2 or 3 team mates. There were in total 6 teams and 3 topics - Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Channel. Those with the same topic will have to compete with each other, though we also competed with the other brands. What we had to do was to work together as a team and present our very own brand - how we dress, how we sell our brand, what makes the brand attractive and so on.

My team is the Kate Spade yellow team. As we were really busy, we didn't really plan much. All preparations were done the day before and the day before yesterday. It was a mess but we managed to pull through a decent presentation slides and a very last minute decision on our outfits on the competition day.

So, continue back to where I have left off during the competition day. After the lunch, that's when the competition started. We were firstly introduced to the audience with a round of catwalk.

Later, we rushed back to change our outfits to what represent our brands and retouched our makeup. It wasn't very long but enough time for preparation. That's when our team saw how other teams were really making an effort for this competition. The way they dressed up were really creative and thoughtful. Also, another Kate Spade team was right before us. That's when I thought it was the end for us. But, my teammates were really supportive and thus I decided to give my very best to not disappoint them.

We were given 4 minutes for presentation, 1 minute for catwalk, and another minute for questions by the judges. After one team entered the hall after another, it's our turn. We were the Kate Spade off-shoulder team!! We decided it on the spot since that's the only thing we all had in common, making it easier for presentation.

It was a really quick presentation and I was nervous to death, partly because I thought I didn't have enough time to present (thankfully, the timekeeper was quite lenient in timekeeping, that even though the 4 minutes had already passed when it's about my turn, I still had plenty of time left) and partly because I didn't really prepare any speech.

When all the teams presented, we were once called to the front for the guests to have a final look for voting session.

The all so amazing teams

After a little break, then there's the prize-giving ceremony to all the sponsors, the organisers, the consultants and, finally, the contestants. There were a few winning category for the final round, the individual category (the individual speech that we gave), the team category and the overall category (from round 1 to the final round). For the team category, there were 2 winners, one was from the judges and the other from the guests.

And, you know what?? My team won. My team won!! We won the heart of the guests. Can you believe it? We could not believe it. Neither one of us could believe it when we had such strong competitors.

It's my first time winning a competition, though it was only the final round team category, I was very satisfied. Special thanks to Jonlivia, Divo Hair Connection and Good Virtues Co. for sponsoring the prizes. I will use them wisely. Will definitely do a review of the Jonlivia hot pants in the future.

The prizes I received
Oh oh! Before I forget, the another team who won the heart of the judges was another Kate Spade. Basically, Kate Spade won the floor for the day!! Congratulations to all!!

Finally, there was a round of celebration for the first ever Image Consultant Star Search and we had cakes sponsored by Cake Walk Cafe!! I heard that there will be another Star Search in the future and the overall winner will be the ambassador for it.
